I'm in the slightly bizarre realm of having both the macports and MAMP installed on my mac. I couldn't get mac-ports PHP to talk to mysql (the temp.socket things are looking in the wrong places) which I've left as I had Mysql working well with tomcat.

I wanted to try MAMP as it would be a separate installation and not hopefully mess with mysql.

Symfony
Seems OK but the temp symfony (welcome to symfony) index page didn't disappear as the tutorial explained it would. Managed to get the frontend-dev pages working and could see that index.php was the production environment but nothing exciting.

Then the symfony website went down so I hope I've not jinxed them!
