Reactions generally aren't as dark as sunglasses, especially when used
behind glass (like windows); more of a tint.
Cheap sunglasses (without UV protection) are bad for your eyes when worn
outside because they open your iris more and let in more UV rays (or
something like that). I don't know if the same is true of decent sunglasses
being used with monitors.
