I don't have a bill with me but I'm pretty sure
there's an item for phone line rental. I think it's
currently something like 
4p plan + line rental =11 pounds

There aren't generally any hidden extras/gotchas with
virgin just high prices to start with.

Broadband line rental again as Antony mentioned is
included. So you pay what they say you pay.

Perhaps you'd have to pay extra for virgin broadband
line rental, if you don't have the TV and phone. A lot
of the offers say "if you have phone/TV".

As an existing customer they kept quoting me 37 quid
for the XL broadband (20 Mb/s) unless I got one of the
updrade offers i.e. XL TV, XL phone, XL BB and V+.

The best offer came when I got through to a Scottish
lady at about 9pm after selecting option 2 (for
change/upgrade package -I think). The previous call
centre offer were all 66/65 quid.

Annoying a bloke at work is paying 25 quid for pretty
much what I want. He reckons that it's because he's a
loyal NyNex, NTL and Virgin customer. His bill shows 2
seperate discounts adding up to 20 quid.

It's probably because he's a lot pushier than me; I
just hate being a git on the phone. I hate phones but
I can now talk for free on one.
