Don't forget to save your test receipt as you-as-Dharmafly can claim it
as a business expense as you work at a computer so much.

I've tried Specsavers, Boots and D&A (the one in Churchill Square).

I felt Specsavers didn't give a very good test - no where near as long /
thorough as I was used to, I don't think it took 10 minutes and as I
rather rely on my eyes I'd like them to do a better job. This was a few
years ago so they might have got better since.

Boots gave more thorough test, but left the door open to a bright area
which messed up things like the field test where they flash up dim
lights to check your peripheral vision, which was a bit crap of them.

D&A gave a thorough test under the best conditions. They also weren't
too pushy on sales. I may be a little biased as I know someone who works
there, but they didn't do my test or fitting so I don't think I was
given better treatment because of that. They were as good as the
independent I used to use over in Worthing.

Things I'd expect from a sight test: field test, puff of air in eye
(glucoma test?), thing where they work out roughly where you can focus
(might have done this because I always lose previous prescription), them
looking in eye to check for crap in there (bright light while they use
little gadget), and the standard eye test of letters on board and
testing blurriness against different coloured backgrounds. You might not
need a glucoma test, it depends on family history and your age.

Cheers

Paul
