Probably because you need to put a CPU, RAM and hard drives into a Shuttle,
thus making it a more expensive solution, not to mention more hassle, when
all Jay wanted was a bit of simple, RAIDed network storage, I assume. ;-)

http://www.microdirect.co.uk/productinfo.aspx?ProductID=14767 then you can
choose which OS / freenas.org
