[BNM] [BMN] CSS conundrum. With pictures.

Ok - css query. I thought these had gone out of fashion, but apparently not.


How... do you get a load of icons to float left inside a centrally 
floated thing? So if there's a load of them that stack up politely, and 
if there's only a couple, they sit in the middle.

but when there's only a few of them they go to the centre.


What we're doing at the moment is wrapping the whole lot in a table... 
which automatically adjusts its width to be the same as what it's 
containing. Which works like magic (for that is what it is) until you've 
got a slow connection... then everything turns into a long column.

Note that the height of the containing thing is dictated by the number 
of icons... so no absolute positioning etc.


How the feck do you do that then?

There must be a sensible solution etc.
