[BNM] MacBook trackpad

Regarding Applecare... someone told me that you can buy the three year
Applecare at the end of your first year, and effectively get four years.
Seemed too good to be true, and apparently is (I asked Square and Colyers
this week), but has anyone managed to do this? I'm sure it was a Farm or BNM
resident who said about it before.
