[BNM] The laptop blue-screening saga.

Ok, having failed to come up with anything concrete, and nothing other 
than recalcitrance and prevarication from those cock-weasels at Toshiba, 
  I'm faced with the prospect of simply buying a new one and binning this...

Something I have noticed though - it crashes in hibernate mode. eg: It 
can be sitting there watching some sort of movie... then after a while 
the screen hibernates (but the sound continues) and then some time after 
that the whole thing goes into hibernate mode... looks like it's kindof 
powering down.

And then 30 minutes, an hour etc later it will spontaneously reboot - 
having (presumably) crashed.

So does anyone know how a machine could crash when it's in hibernate 
mode? I mean its not actually doing anything is it?
