[BNM] question about google links

i have a client that is looking at their inbound links in google....

When they type into google:

link:www.hi-baby.co.uk

They get 14 inbound links. Notice there is no space character between the
colon and the w characters.


However, when they type into google:

link: www.hi-baby.co.uk
They get 100+ inbound links. Notice there is a space character between the
colon and the w characters.


Wonder if anyone knows why this is?
