I think I'd expect the light to change (as the sun does) depending on the
point at which it is in the sky.
I know the sun turns red as it hits the horizon and I'd assumed this was
the same effect you get when you pass white light through a prism. The
atmosphere acts as prism on sunlight and the colour of the sun you see is
dependent on it's position of you and it. So I guess I was expecting the
ISS to slowly change colour as it moved through the the sky. Or rather the
angle the light from the ISS hitting the atmosphere changed.
Actually as the light is being reflected from another point (the ISS) then
I don't know what colour I'd expect it to be but I guess the angle the
reflected sunlight hits the atmosphere and point you are standing are
significant so it could have been red at some point but possibly slowly
changing.
I'm slightly more convinced I'm not talking complete bollox now.
Thanks
Jas
