[BNM] Reverse (invert) video on a pc

I've been using this for a couple of years and quite a lot of applications 
don't stick to the rules. I've got quite a lot of things that show black 
text on a black background (especially warnings/errors/installshield 
stuff). Using the mac makes me wonder if this is possible on a PC?

I want to reverse the entire desktop, not clips, so I can switch off the 
accessiblity wizard which doesn't work completely. Or rather many 
applications don't respect system colours/settings.

If you press the bottom-3-left-keys and key 8 on a Mac you get reverse 
video which appears to take the signal and reverse it rather than take 
colours and change them to another colour. Is there software for a PC that 
could do the same with a few keystrokes; it would be very useful to me. I 
could probably pursuade work to buy a new graphics card if one had this 
feature? Can I hack a video driver and say make white to black etc?
