[BNM] Laptop Repair

mmm opened it up as much as I could, I certainly could see the capacitors and they were not the echunga ones depicted - they were purple and silver.

most of the board that I could see appeared in good order.

my first thoughts were that it was the power supply (hence spending £60 on a new one) as the input jack would get v hot and it refused to run off the power supply, it just used the battery, which occassionally was being topped up by the power supply but the failure to continue doing this saw the whole thing die......

I paid about £1100 for this beast and I am prepared to pay a little more to get it back to it's roaring (literally) glory.

soooooooooooooooo, once again my friends - anyone had experience of any decent and honest repair centres/fellas?

Ali

  Look for these:

Always a telltale sign. For three years japan imported dodgy ones and
they were used in a lot of products.

Of all the computers I've fixed which had faulty motherboards, 95% had
  this problem.
