Like Tom, I used to live near - right next to, in fact - the viaduct
and the disturbance really wasn't that bad. Thing is, nearly all of
the trains stop at London Road station and there's a signal on the
viaduct at the end of Campbell Road too; they're rarely going fast
enough to register as more than a vague rumble. You'd get used to it
pretty quickly, I imagine.

I do wonder, though, whether you might get tannoy noise and suchlike
from London Road station itself. That'd be worth investigating,
assuming that you're thinking of buying, renting or whatever.
