Hi Iestyn,
I haven't used Smedge, but have used ButterflyNetRender. I found it
incredibly easy to setup and use. Only took about 10 minutes if I
remember correctly. Saved my bacon too with some Lightwave work I was
doing. :)
Might be worth investigating.
I also briefly looked at Deadline from Frantic Films which might be more
suited to your needs.

Subject: [BNM] Renderfarm software - smedge
Hey all,
I'm setting up a renderfarm at the moment, and i'm having some problems.
Screamernet runs perfectly, and was remarkably easy to set up..
However, we want to use Smedge to control Lightwave, 3dsmax, after
effects and combustion - and this is causing me a lot of problems..
has anyone here used smedge(3) before?
Cheers
iestyn
