[BNM] 8Mb ADSL recommendations please

I've had it up to *here* with NTL; I'm meant to be on a 2Mb plan, but
since I swapped to a cable modem they can find no record of my free
upgrade and for the last two weeks I've had massive packet loss and
ping times to most of the internet.

I can get my BT phone reconnected, so who should I get an 8Mbps ADSL
service from? Any recommendations? Who should I avoid?
