Don't understand the last bit but "The Assured Shorthold Tenancy, or AST, is
the most common type of tenancy in the private rented sector, and has
evolved to be quite well balanced (previously tenancy law had swung between
being heavily biased to either the landlord or the tenant)."

The landlord pointed out that according to this document I was in fact

It works both ways of course, for the first six months, of course.
