Model number and hardware version would be needed, even if you put it on ebay.
Eg: Linksys WRT54G, version 2.2

The V5 WRT54G and v5 WRT54GS are no use to most people wanting to run
openWRT or similar on the box.

out model number/version from serial number (though most have it
written on the underside).
